GUARNE / ANTIOQUIA AREA
The Guarne area situated in the mountainous region of Antioquia, with its luscious forests, green grass, and fresh climate as an ideal location to begin our soul connecting journey. The area is only 90 minutes drive from Medellin, and will take you through peaceful cows and horses gazing while cruising small villages on the path to the retreat.
PASO DE MANGO, LA SIERRA NEVADA
We are taking you to the jungle-esque region of Sierra Nevada in the heart of a tropical forest in the Paso de Mango village. As its name implies, there will be an abundance of fruit circling around, mangos, cacao, coffee, papaya, bananas, and a lot more. The feeling of deep nature immersion continues.
The Paso del Mango path is located 400 meters above sea level in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada above the village of Bonda, 18 km from the urban area of Santa Marta.
It is characterized by its richness in crystalline water sources, in particular the Manzanares river, and the Giro Casaca river. In this sector you can find Taironas vestiges such as original stone paths, indigenous terraces, beautiful water cascades, and diverse types of exotic fruit abounding in the forest.
You can visit places of tourist attraction such as the Caoba Biological Reserve, the Finca del Cacao, the del Griego Waterfalls, the Pozo del Amor, The Little Lost City, etc …
Darien Region
Located in northwest Colombia, between Antioquia and Chocó regions, and one hour flight from Medellin, the Darién region is one of the most unique places globally due to its large biodiversity.
It is one of the last tropical rainforests in contact with the sea that is left worldwide. Around 25% of species found here are endemic to these environments, meaning they can’t be found elsewhere on the planet. You will encounter tropical birds unseen elsewhere, a wide range of mammals such as the cappuccino or spider monkeys, and even the queen/king itself, the Latin American jaguar.
The Darién region is, simply put, “another world” – given its uncontained wilderness and sprawling landscape that only a few dare to venture in.
For those having read the Colombian national poet, Gabriel Garcia Marquez you will encounter here the famous banana plantation lands feeding the world through their abundance.
A place of disconnection from life’s stress, and a reconnection to nature, communities, and ourselves, the Darien region can offer you both the paradoxical escapade of stillness in the midst of tropical charming bird or monkey noises as well as an opportunity to explore the connection between beautiful sea shores and the inland rainforest.
